When St. John Fisher College football coach Bob Bayer was asked who was the most versatile player he ever coached, one player quickly came to mind – Ralph Fornuto.
A two-time All-American kicker, Fornuto played several positions during his four-year career, including linebacker, defensive back, full back and tight end. He ranks as the club football program’s all-time leading scorer with 158 points on 92 extra points, 18 field goals and two touchdowns. A four-year letterwinner, Fornuto helped pace the Cardinals to a 31-8 year during his career and a national club championship in his sophomore season. Fornuto, who also intercepted six passes during his senior year, also ranks third at Fisher career punt return yards with 295 yards on 35 attempts. The President of USA Payroll, the main sponsor of the Fisher Fall Classic, Fornuto graduated from Fisher in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management.
