St. John Fisher University Athletics Hall of Fame
Starting at quarterback at just the age of 17, Greg Roland took over the reins under center for the St. John Fisher College football team only to become one of the greatest quarterbacks in program history from 2000-2003.
He graduated as Fisher’s all-time leader in passing yards with (6,602), touchdown passes with (50), completions with (564) and passing attempts witt (1,052). Upon ending his playing career in a Fisher uniform, Roland was the only player in program history to have eclipsed 5,000 career passing yards.  Â
In his senior season, Roland was named the ECAC Most Valuable Player throwing for 300 yards and three touchdowns on 20 of 26 passing en route to a 47-37 win over SUNY Cortland.
Roland set a then single-game record, passing for five touchdowns in Fisher’s 68-0 win over Utica College in 2003. He also set a single-game record for passing yards with 385 on September 28, 2002.
The signal caller was instrumental to the progressive improvement of the Cardinals going 1-9, 3-7, 6-4, and finally 8-3 in his senior campaign.
