St. John Fisher University Athletics Hall of Fame
More than half of Mary Cooper Hughes '84 career points (32 goals and 20 assists) came in a breakthrough freshman season in which she scored 17 goals and 10 assists, leading St. John Fisher College to a record of 14-1. In her sophomore year, Mary moved back from halfback, scoring six goals and sic assists as the Cardinals went 14-2. As a senior, she captained her team to first-place finishes in the East Tournament and the Rochester Area Tournament. Mary also played in 106 basketball games, finishing with 441 points and receiving both Rochester Area College and Brock University All-Tournament Team honors. A mother of six, Mary resides in Phoenix , New York and coaches junior varsity boys soccer.
