In his 19 years as a head coach for softball at St. John Fisher College, Len Maiorani never had a losing season. Maiorani finished his time at Fisher as the winningest coach in Fisher softball history and one of the most successful coaches all-time in NCAA Division III. Winning 541 games (.657 winning percentage) during his 19-year tenure at Fisher, he reached the 30-win plateau nine different times. Under Maiorani, Fisher reached some form of postseason play in all but one year, including 11 consecutive appearances in the Empire 8 Championship. In 1999, Maiorani's Cardinals set a College record with 39 wins as the Cardinals won the New York State and ECAC North Championships. At Fisher, Maiorani led the Cardinals to four Empire 8 Conference titles with the most recent coming in 2013. That season, Fisher also earned the program’s first-ever No. 1 seed in the NCAA Regional. As a coach at Fisher, the East Rochester native developed four All-America award winners, while also producing 32 different All-Region honorees. Maiorani’s success at Fisher earned him 2004 and 2009 Empire 8 Conference's Coach of the Year honors. A SUNY Geneseo graduate, Len and his wife Beth have three children: Lenny, Sean and Stacia.
