An All-American on the St. John Fisher College football team, Gerald Dias wore the Cardinal uniform from 1999-2002. In that time he became one of the most dominant defensive backs in program history.
Dias, a Football Gazette and ECAC Division III Northwest First-Team selection, finished his career as Fisher’s all-time leader in punt return yards with (474) and punt return average (13.5). Upon completing his senior season, Dias ranked second all-time in career tackles with 295 and fifth all-time with seven career interceptions.
Dias has several single-game records to his credit including longest punt return for a touchdown (97 yards), most punt return yards (125) and longest fumble recovery for a touchdown (60).
Upon graduating, he held the program record for most punt return yards in a season with 294 and highest punt return average in a single season (14.7 yards), which broke the program’s previous record that had also been set by Dias.
Following his four year career with the Cardinals, Dias went on to play for the Rochester Raiders semi-pro football team.
