St. John Fisher University Athletics Hall of Fame
Gina M.Keyes ’93, who was inducted based on meritorious service to the College, started the men’s rugby program over 25 years ago and in that span built it into one of the nation’s top club rugby programs as the Fisher Kings won State Championship titles in 1999 and 2012. Under her guidance, the club has been recognized by the College numerous times as Club of the Year as well as for its academic reputation. Keyes mentored and coached hundreds of Fisher students, many of whom are still active in both the Fisher and rugby communities. Former rugby players cite the tremendous impact she had not only on their athletic careers, but how each of them was able to take the philosophies that she preached and apply them to their personal and professional lives.
