St. John Fisher University Athletics Hall of Fame
Matt Rowe made a significant impact to the early years of Fisher varsity football.
He was the 1986 Cardinals rookie of the year and went on to become a three year starter at defensive back and a special team’s standout. Matt was a two-time captain and team MVP. As a junior he led the Cardinals with 93 tackles and earned all-conference honors.
As a senior he was named pre-season all-America and had 84 tackles and three interceptions in 7 games before a broken leg ended his final season.
He finished his career as the Fisher all-time leader in tackles and return yards.
Matt graduated in 1990 with a degree in business management.
Matt Rowe was inducted into the St. John Fisher College Hall of Fame in 2016.
