St. John Fisher University Athletics Hall of Fame
Gary Fitch finished his playing career as the football program’s all-time leading rushing and all-time leading scorer. A preseason All-American, Fitch also set the Fisher single-game rushing record with 248 yards during his sophomore season. As a junior, the running back rushed for 916 yards and gained 191 yards receiving to become the first player in Fisher’s Division III history to combine for more than 1,000 yards. At the time of induction, Fitch ranked second at the College in the following career categories: rushing yards (2,501), touchdowns (28), scoring (169 points) and attempts (545). Gary graduated from Fisher with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.
