In a 1-1 week for the Cardinals in which they faced two tough conference opponents to wrap up their regular season schedule, Lax averaged 14.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.0 steals, and 1.0 assists, while shooting 87.5% (7-for-8) from the foul line.

Lax recorded 17 points in Fisher’s 68-65 overtime loss to Nazareth on Tuesday night at Kidera Gymnasium, including a game-tying free throw to send the game into the extra period, as well as the 3-pointer that would give Fisher its last tie of the game at 65-65 with 20 seconds left. In Friday night’s contest against visiting Utica, Lax recorded 12 points and picked up five boards to aid in leading the Cardinals to a nailbiting 77-76 victory.

For the season, Lax is shooting 33.1% from the floor (57-for-172) and 70.2% from the charity stripe (33-for-47). The junior guard ranks third on the team in scoring, averaging 7.0 points per game, and is tied for first on the team in blocks with 20.

Fisher, now 14-10 overall and 9-7 in the Empire 8 Conference, returns to action this weekend as it begins its postseason play. The Cardinals, the No. 4 seed in the Empire 8 tournament, take on host and No. 1 seed Ithaca College on Friday night at 6 p.m.
