    St. John Fisher College has named Kristi Jeffres (Pavilion/Wyoming) of the women’s basketball team as the College’s Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending January 31, 2010.
    On Tuesday, Jeffres scored six points in a 61-46 win over visiting Nazareth College. She also recorded four rebounds, two steals and a block.
    On Friday, the sophomore scored a season high 14 points in a 49-48 win against Stevens Institute of Technology. The center shot 7-of-15 from the field, and also grabbed three rebounds. She also recorded a career high six steals in the win.
    Jeffres is averaging 6.6 points per game and 4.3 rebounds per game. She has played in all 19 games, and started 13 contests this season.
    The Cardinals (11-8, 6-5) will return to action at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, as they travel to the Rochester Institute of Technology.
