Women's Track and Field Has Strong Showing In Ithaca Invite

PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher women's track and field team competed in the Ithaca Bomber Invite on Saturday. 

Track Highlights 

  • Senior distance runner Caitlin Voloshen placed fifth and met the regional-meet qualifying time in the mile, finishing the race in 5:16.46. Senior Olivia Grinnell finished just behind Voloshen at 5:18.32. 

  • Freshman Makenna Keough placed eighth and met the regional qualifying mark in the 60-meter hurdles event, logging a personal-best time of 9.46. 

  • Freshman sprinter Emily Heiner placed first in the 60-meter run with a personal-best time of 7.88 seconds. Heiner also won the 200-meter run with a time of 26.81, also a personal record. 

Field Events

  • Keough placed sixth and set a personal record in the long jump with a mark of 5.23 meters. 

  • Senior Erin McGuinness placed fifth and met the regional meet qualifying mark in the shot put with a toss of 12.28 meters.

The Cardinals will compete in the Utica Indoor Meet next Saturday, Feb. 7.
