PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Four individuals and one relay team claimed titles to lead the St. John Fisher women's track and field team to a second-place finish with 153 points in the 2026 Empire 8 Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The meet took place at St. John Fisher's Polisseni Track & Field Complex on Friday and Saturday.
The Empire 8 named Cardinals sophomore sprinter Abigail Dorunda its Track Athlete of the Meet. As part of an outstanding weekend, Dorunda won the 100-meter dash with a program record time of 12.25 seconds and helped the Cardinals' 4x100 team, which also included Makenna Manson, Ella Radley and Emily Heiner, place first at 48.38 seconds. Additionally, she finished third in the 200-meter run (25.44 seconds), placed sixth in the 400-meter run (59.45 seconds) and was part of the 4x400-meter relay team that placed second (4:04.00).
The Cardinals also had an impressive showing on the field side, with senior Anna Steed (hammer throw), sophomore Sierra Myers (javelin throw) and sophomore Kianna Naval (triple jump) winning conference championships in their respective events.
Steed recorded a toss of 48.92 meters in the hammer throw, and Myers recorded a season-best mark of 35.07 meters in the javelin throw. Naval set Fisher's outdoor record in the triple jump at 11.46 meters.
SUNY Geneseo, which piled up 275 points over the two days, won the team championship for the second straight year. Nazareth finished third with 150.5 points.

Naval also placed third in the long jump with a mark of 5.45 meters, qualifying for the regional championship meet.

Sophomore Hailee Garcia placed second in the women's discus throw with a mark of 38.12 meters.

Junior Mary Claire Rollins placed third in the high jump at 1.55 meters.
