PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher women's track and field team opened the indoor season on Friday evening in the Nazareth University Alumni Invitational. 

Track Highlights 

• Senior Caitlin Voloshen set a program indoor record and placed first in the 1,000-meter run, logging a time of 3:03.12.

• Sophomore Abigail Dorunda set a personal record and placed second in the 60-meter run with a time of 7.88 seconds. She met the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference meet standard with that mark. 

• The Cardinals had two 4x200 relay teams hit the regional-meet standard. Fisher's quartet of Caelyn Eiser, Abigayle Snyder, Abigail Dorunda and Alexia Strom-Warren placed second with a time of 1:48.92, while Emily Heiner, Makenna Manson, Ella Radley and Allison Nickson took third at 1:49.25. 

• The Cardinals' 4x400 team of Liliana Mendez, Juliana Riemersma, Sophia Leach and Victoria Capuli placed third with a time of 4.12.73. 

Field Highlights 

• Sophomore Kathryn Hillyard placed second in the high jump with a mark of 1.53 meters, a personal record. 

• Senior Erin McGuinness placed third in the shot put with a hurl of 12.46 meters. 

• Senior Jazelle McIntyre placed fourth in the shot put, recording a throw of 15.04 meters. 

• Sophomore Kianna Naval placed third in the triple jump at 10.82 meters.

The Cardinals will travel to Ithaca on Saturday, Jan. 21, for the Cornell University Southern Tier Open.
