The St. John Fisher College men's and women's cross country teams ran in the NYSCTC Cross Country Championship on Saturday morning at Center Park in Fairport. Fisher's women's team placed ninth, while the men finished 11th. Both competitions featured 12 participating teams.

Kaitlin Shippy was the highest finisher for either Cardinal team on Saturday, placing 33rd individually with a time of 24:23.42. Renee Deruchia (65th, 25:42.92), Nicole Graziadei (78th, 25:56.60) and Nicole Vainauskas (84th, 26:04.87) all finished in the Top 100 for the Cardinals.

On the men's side, Evan Magnussen was the Cardinals' top finisher, placing 65th with a final time of 28:04.02.

The women's team finished with a cumulative time of 2:09:03.15, which averaged to 25:48.63 per competitor. The men totaled 2:25:48.29, which breaks down to 29:09.66 per runner.

Both teams will return to action next Saturday as they run in the Empire 8 Conference Championships.
