PITTSFORD, N.Y. – St. John Fisher men's cross country junior Jace Stuart has earned first-team All-Empire 8 Conference honors for the 2025 season, the league announced on Monday. 

The Empire 8 first, second and third team all-conference selections were determined at the championship meet on Nov. 1 from St. John Fisher's Murphy Field Cross Country Course. Stuart placed eighth in the 8k race at 26:44.0, just shy of Andrew Ford's program record time (26:40.00) for the Cardinals' course. 

Stuart, a third-team All-Empire 8 performer back in 2023, was one of just three non-Geneseo runners who earned a first-team spot this year. Houghton's Amos Bixler and Utica's Bennett Melita were the other two. 

Sophomore Landon Wertz was selected as St. John Fisher's representative on the conference's "Tomorrow's Leaders Team." The Tomorrow's Leaders Team recognizes a student-athlete from each E8 team who has demonstrated leadership in competition, in the classroom and in their community.
