PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University men's cross country team opened the 2026 season in the Fisher-Rodenbeck Invite on Friday evening, placing seventh out of nine teams.
Junior Landon Wertz recorded the Cardinals' top time, running a 20:27.9 6k, good for 16th place out of nearly 100 collegiate runners. The time marked a personal best for Wertz in the 6k.
The University at Buffalo placed first as a team, while SUNY Geneseo took second.

Connor Stanton was Fisher's second-best finisher in the race, taking 51st place with a mark of 22:28.5.
