LEBANON, Pa. – The St. John Fisher men's golf team wrapped up its 21st Empire 8 Conference title and fifth in a row on Monday at the Lebanon Valley Country Club to clinch a spot in the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship.
The Cardinals shot 105-over-par 1,241 over the four rounds – the first two of which were played in October at the Teugega Country Club in Rome, New York – to win the tournament by 19 strokes. Russell Sage (124-over 1,260) claimed second place, while Nazareth (127-over 1,263) finished third and Utica (136-over 1,272) took fourth.
St. John Fisher finished Sunday's third round and Monday's fourth round +31 (319 strokes). Russell Sage trailed by just four strokes after the third round but shot 46-over 334 on Monday, slipping well behind the Cardinals.
Three Cardinals placed in the top five on the individual leader board, with sophomore Colin Patterson, who ended the fall portion of the tournament in second place, finishing as the champion at 21-over-par 305. Sophomores Nick Years (+23, 307 strokes) and Jack Doran (+28, 312 strokes) took second and fifth, respectively.
Top Performers
Patterson finished tied with SUNY Oswego's Tyce Helmick for the low score on Sunday, carding a four-over 76 with birdies on the par-three third, par-five seventh and par-four 13th holes. He shot 10-over 82 on Monday but did just enough to stay ahead of Years and third-place finisher Raine Rumble of SUNY Canton.
Years finished carded a 79 on Sunday and an 80 on Monday to secure second place. He had one birdie in the third round and two in the fourth.
Doran shot 12-over 84 on Sunday and seven-over 79 on Monday.

The Cardinals will compete in the NCAA DIII Men's Golf Championship in Howey-In-The-Hills, Florida, at the Mission Resort and Club. The tournament runs May 12-15.
