CICERO, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University men's golf team opened the 2026 season by winning the St. John Fisher Collegiate Invitational, a two-round tournament played on Sunday and Monday at the Lakeshore Country Club.
The Cardinals shot 23-over-par 599 to win in a landslide over second-place SUNY ESF and third-place Keuka College. The tournament victory marked the Cardinals' 90th under Bob Simms, who has 98 total career wins between Fisher's men's and women's programs.
St. John Fisher junior Ryan Jones, a transfer from Rider, finished atop the individual leaderboard at two-over-par 146. He shot a 73 in both rounds and recorded 11 birdies.
Junior Colin Patterson finished in second place at +6 (150 strokes). The reigning Empire 8 Player of the Year shot a 72 on Sunday and a 78 on Monday, making six birdie putts along the way.
Junior Nick Years, who played as an individual, claimed third place at eight-over 152. Juniors Robert Fischer and Carson French finished tied for fourth at 10-over 154.
