VICTOR, N.Y. – Sophomore Nick Years had the strongest performance of his collegiate career to lead the St. John Fisher men's golf team in the St. John Fisher Spring Invitational on Sunday and Monday at Cobblestone Creek Country Club.
The Cardinals, who held first place by eight strokes after the first round on Sunday, finished in second place at +55 (631 strokes). Nazareth won the tournament by three strokes.
Top Performers
Years, who shot four-over par 148 to win the tournament, had a fantastic opening round on Sunday, making six birdie putts to finish even (72 strokes). He carded a four-over 76 on Monday to maintain his lead over teammate Colin Patterson, who finished in a tie for second.
Patterson recorded nine birdies across the two rounds, including seven on Sunday, and ended the tournament nine-over par 153. The sophomore shot a 73 in the first round and an 80 in the second.
Sophomore Robert Fischer shot 13-over 157 to finish in fourth place, four strokes behind Patterson and Nazareth's Lincoln Crosby. Fischer birdied the par-four 11th hole on Sunday and the par-five sixth and par-four third holes on Monday.
