PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher women's golf team began the 2025 season with a first-place finish in the SJF Collegiate Invite, which the Cardinals hosted on Sunday and Monday at the Wild Wood Country Club in nearby Rush. The Cardinals hadn't won a tournament since the 2018 Nazareth Fall Invite.
The Cardinals carded a 363 over the two-day tournament, 15 strokes ahead of second-place SUNY Geneseo. Freshman Emma Sweazy claimed first on the individual leaderboard, finishing +23 after shooting an 83 on Sunday and an 84 on Monday.
Junior Sarah Burgess, who shot an 87 in the first round and an 88 in the second, finished in a tie for second at +26. With a strong final round (86 strokes), senior Paige Landers moved up to eighth place.
Juniors Paige Lasher (T-9th) and Emily Wyman (11th), senior Naomi Cromer (13th) and freshman Bella O'Rourke (14th) also finished in the top 15.
