PITTSFORD, N.Y. – St. John Fisher freshman Emma Sweazy has been named Northeast Women's Golf Conference Player and Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced on Thursday. 

Sweazy put together an impressive performance in the McDaniel Spring Invite last weekend, ending the two-round tournament in a three-way tie for third with a pair of Catholic University golfers, Lauren Wright and Gabrielle Courtney. She carded a 24-over-par 168, eight strokes behind first-place Shuyi Wang of Franklin & Marshall. 

Sweazy shot an 82 in the first round and an 86 in the second. She recorded a birdie on the par-four 12th hole on Sunday.

As a team, the Cardinals finished tied with Salisbury for fifth place at +163 (739). Catholic (+109) took first, while the rest of the leaderboard's top half included Gettysburg (+133), Stevenson (+147) and Franklin & Marshall (+158), respectively.

The Cardinals next compete in the Cortland Spring Invite April 11-12.
