WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The St. John Fisher University men's golf team placed 12th in the Division III Northeast Elite Tournament, which Penn State Altoona hosted Sunday and Monday at the Williamsport Country Club.
The Cardinals carded a two-day total of 616, just behind Stevens (11th, 615 strokes) and Penn College (10th, 611 strokes). The University of Rochester (577) edged Gettysburg (578) by one stroke to claim first place.
Sophomores Jack Doran, Nick Years and Colin Patterson finished the tournament tied for 38th place at 11-over 153.
Patterson rose an impressive 14 spots on the leaderboard on Monday, turning in a four-over 75. He eagled the par-five sixth hole and birdied the third and 18th holes.
Doran also climbed the standings on Monday, as he carded a 76 (+5) to move up seven spots. He birdied the par-five sixth and the par-four seventh.
Years stood in the top 15 on the leaderboard after shooting two-over 73 with three birdies on Sunday. He shot an 80 (+9) on Monday while falling back to 38th.
