PITTSFORD, N.Y. – St. John Fisher field hockey junior Mary Kate McPhee and sophomore Alison Taplin have been named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Watchlist ahead of the 2025 season.

The list includes players from across Division III with the strongest potential to earn NFHCA All-Region and All-America teams. The NFHCA tabbed 175 players from 84 Division III programs to this year's watchlist.

A second-team All-E8 selection as a freshman in 2023, McPhee will be counted on to lead the Cardinals' offense this season. The junior is the team's only returning player who tallied more than four points in 2024, as she finished with 14 on five goals and four assists. She has 36 total points with 15 goals and six assists through her first two collegiate seasons.

Taplin, Fisher's only returning player who earned All-E8 honors last season, played and started in all 19 games as a freshman in 2024. The London, United Kingdom, native finished third on the team with two defensive saves.

The Cardinals open their season at 3 p.m. on Friday against William Smith in Geneva, New York.
