PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Junior Caitlin Voloshen's performance in the 800-meter run headlined an impressive showing for the St. John Fisher women's track and field team on Saturday in the St. John Fisher Cardinal Classic.
Voloshen set an outdoor school record in the 800 with a time of 2:15.75 to place second, just behind Geneseo's Dakota Limbert (2:15.62). That time is five seconds faster than her previous outdoor 800 record of 2:20.75 set in the Harrison Dillard Twilight Meet last year.

Hailee Garcia placed sixth and set a personal record in the discus throw (37.26m).

Veronica Duell had her best performance of the season in the long jump, recording a mark of 5.77 meters. She placed fourth in the event.

Olivia Grinnell set a personal record in the 1500m run with a time of 4:52:06. She placed ninth in the event.

The Cardinals' 4x100 relay team of Abigail Dorunda, Ciarra Franz, Ashley Holt and Makenna Manson placed third with a time of 48.89 seconds.

Sophia Leach set a personal record in the 400-meter hurdles event (1:07.78). She placed 12th out of 32 participants.

Sabrina Antonini (11:53.49), freshman Peyton Carter (12:14.82), Nicole Edinger (13:17.50) and Abby Nash (13:39.21) set personal records in the 3000 steeplechase.

Anna Steed placed fourth in the hammer throw (47.07m).

Kathryn Hillyard placed fourth in the high jump, recording a mark of 1.59m.

Dorunda placed third in the 200m run with a time of 25.75 seconds.

The Cardinals will compete in the Empire 8 Outdoor Track and Field Championships next weekend at SUNY Brockport.
