Eiser's Pentathlon Performance Highlights Day 1 Of Atlantic Regional Indoor Championships For Women's Track And Field

NEW YORK, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher women's track and field team began competition in the All-Atlantic Region Indoor Championships (AARTFC) on Friday at the Nike Track and Field Center at the Armory.  

Freshman Caelyn Eiser had a strong performance in the pentathlon, nearly besting the school record score of 2,871 she set last week in the Empire 8 Conference Indoor Championships. Eiser compiled a score of 2,869 on Friday on the strength of a first-place performance in the shot put (10.39 meters) and a second-place performance in the long jump (5.29 meters). She finished ninth overall. 

Additional Day 1 Highlights 

  • Sophomore Makenna Manson recorded a personal-best time of 7.96 seconds in the 60-meter run prelims. 

  • Senior thrower Erin McGuinness placed 14th in the shot put with a mark of 11.98 meters.

  The Cardinals continue competition in the regional championships on Saturday.
