ITHACA, N.Y. – St. John Fisher women's track and field junior Caitlin Voloshen set a school record in the mile as the Cardinals wrapped up an eighth-place finish in the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Championships at Ithaca College's Galzaer Arena.
Voloshen, who's had a strong indoor season across multiple events, placed third in the mile with a time of 4:59.77, a mark that will give her a chance to qualify for the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships. Selections for the national meet will be released on Sunday night.
Freshman Kathryn Hillyard earned her way to the podium for the second straight day, placing fourth in the high jump (1.62m). She placed eighth and tied a school record in the pole vault on Friday.
Senior Ciarra Franz also found her way to the podium with a seventh-place finish in the 60m hurdles event with a time of 8.93 seconds.
The Cardinals had athletes reach the podium in six events in all. Senior Veronica Duell (long jump, third place) and the 4x400 team of Gracie Wright, Emma Wright, Sophia Leach and Abigail Dorunda (seventh place) did so on Friday night.

Freshman Makenna Manson recorded the fifth-fastest time in program history in the 60m run (7.93 seconds).

Junior Olivia Grinnell recorded the second-fastest 3000m run time in program history (10:32.14).

The Cardinals' qualifiers will compete in the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships next weekend at Nazareth University.
