ITHACA, N.Y. – Sophomore Hayden Penna's podium finish in the pole vault and a strong showing by the 4x400 team headlined the first day of the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Championships for the St. John Fisher men's track and field team. The Cardinals are tied for 17th place on the team leaderboard.
One week after taking first in the Empire 8 Indoor Track and Field Championships, Penna placed fourth in the pole vault with a mark of 4.61m, improving on an 11th-place finish in last year's indoor regional championships. He placed in the top five in every meet he competed in during the 2024-25 indoor season.
The Cardinals' 4x400 group – which included Brady Bishop, Michael Prentice, Adam Johnson and Corinthian Reed – set a program record with a time of 3:22.11. That mark was good for ninth place in the event.
