GENESEO, N.Y. – Two school records fell as the St. John Fisher men's outdoor track and field team competed in the Geneseo Early Season Invite this weekend.

The Cardinals' 4x100 relay team of Trystan Biller, Ethan Fox, Elijah Burnley and Corinthian Reed set a program record with a time of 42.46 seconds, placing them second in the race and earning them qualification for the regional meet.

Junior Hayden Penna once again bested his school pole vault record with a mark of 5.10 meters, which currently stands second in Division III. The performance also qualified Penna, who placed second out of 15 competitors, for the regional meet.

Penna broke his outdoor pole vault record last week in the Fisher Tri-Meet and did so multiple times last spring.

Additional Track Highlights

  • Sophomore Gabriel Cromer placed fourth and met the regional meet qualifying mark in the 100-meter run, logging a time of 10.92 seconds. Cromer also placed fifth in the 200-meter run with a time of 21.99 seconds.

Additional Field Highlights

  • Senior Gavin Grinnell placed eighth and set a personal record in the hammer throw with a hurl of 48.11 meters.

  • Sophomore Brandon Keefe placed fourth and set a personal record in the javelin throw, posting a mark of 45.81 meters.
