Hillyard Sets School Record Again In The Pole Vault As Women's Track and Field Competes At Utica Invite

UTICA, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher women's track and field team competed at the Utica Blue and Orange Invitational on Saturday. 

Freshman Kathryn Hillyard had the headline performance for the Cardinals, placing third and setting a school record in the pole vault (3.47m). 

Here are the additional top highlights from the meet:

  • Fisher's 4x400 quartet of Abigail Dorunda, Sophia Leach, Emma Wright and Grace Wright placed first (4:06.28) and reached the NCAA Regional-qualifying mark in the event.  

  • Ciarra Franz set a season-best and hit the NCAA Regional mark in the 60m sprint, placing fourth (7.90). Dorunda and Makenna Mason also had strong performances in the event, setting personal records and finishing in the top 10. Dorunda placed fourth (7.98), and Mason placed sixth (8.06).

  • Junior Jazelle McIntyre set a personal record in the weight throw (15.26m). She placed seventh in the event.

The Cardinals will compete at the Nazareth D3 Meet on Friday, Feb. 14.
