GENESEO, N.Y. – SUNY Geneseo handed the St. John Fisher men's basketball team its fourth straight loss on Friday night, beating the Cardinals 104-86 at Carole Schrader Gymnasium.
The Cardinals, now 6-15 overall and 2-10 in the Empire 8, slipped further from conference tournament contention with the loss, their fifth in their last six games. Geneseo won its third game in a row and moved to 8-13 overall (5-7 Empire 8).

Geneseo had a 12-2 advantage early and pushed its lead to as many as 19 points in the first half.

The Cardinals pulled within 12 late in the first half but never got closer than that the rest of the way. Geneseo, which went on a 9-0 run early in the second half to build a 23-point lead, maintained a 20-plus-point advantage for almost the remainder of the game.

Senior forward Connor Williams and junior forward Louis Fay led Fisher with 17 points. Fay, who came off the bench, set career highs in points, field goals made (8 of 9) and rebounds (7).

The Cardinals tied their season high for 3-pointers made (12 of 27), but Geneseo was even better from beyond the arc, making nearly 60% of its shots (16 of 27).

Colin Gentile led the Knights with 23 points while shooting 9 of 11 overall (3 of 3 from three). Josh Garelle and James Burton each had 13 points, and Kaelan Leak had 12. Leak shot 4 of 5 from three.
