PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University men's track and field team is in third place at the Empire 8 Outdoor Track & Field Championships after Friday's competition.
The Cardinals have 51 points, behind Nazareth (74) and Utica (58).
Here are some of the top Fisher performances from Friday:
On The Track
Senior
Ethan Billings crossed the line second in the 10,000 meters, finishing in a time of 34:15.79.
The 4x800 meter relay team of Nate Kulp,
Riley Nash,
Jace Stuart, and
Myles Andersen placed third with a time of 8:11.54.
Junior
Brady Bishop finished fourth in the 400 meter with a time of 50.29.
In The Field
Sophomore
Brandon Kaplan had the best showing of the day for the Cardinals, winning the hammer throw with a school record, meet record, personal-best, and Atlantic-qualifying distance of 55.82m/183'2''. His senior teammate,
Jack Bickford, also reached an Atlantic-qualifying mark of 49.28m/16'8''.
Freshman
Hayden Penna also took home a conference title, winning the pole vault with an Atlantic region qualifying height of 4.60m/15'1''.
Senior
Matthew Stasiw and freshman Griffin Killian finished fourth and fifth in long jump competition with distances of 6.62m/21'8.75'' and 6.46m/21'2.5'', respectively.
