HENRIETTA, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University women's track and field team took part in the RIT Invitational on Saturday.
The Cardinals saw great success in the field events, with senior Makenna King winning the shot put with a mark of 12.44m/40'9.75''. Senior Michaela Kurbs placed second in the long jump with a distance of 5.02m/16'5.75''. In the hammer throw, sophomore Anna Steed (45.38m) was joined by King (43.15m) and sophomore Jazelle McIntyre (42.95m) placed second, third, and fourth respectively. King also placed second in the discus throw with a distance of 40.68m/133'5'', with teammate and fellow sophomore Erin McGuiness placing third (35.73). Freshman Mary Rollins was second in the high jump with a 1.47m (4'9.75'') jump.
In track events, freshman Maggie Bacon and sophomore Caitlin Voloshen placed third and fourth in the 1500m with times of 5:08.97 and 5:12.65, respectively. Freshman Grace Dolan finished fourth in the 400m, while junior Hayley Fredrickson placed fourth in the 400 meter hurdles.
The Cardinals return to Fisher on Friday and Saturday, April 26-27, to host the Cardinal Classic at the Polisseni Track & Field Complex.
