HENRIETTA, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher men's track and field competed at the RIT Invitational on Saturday.
Senior John Ruggio led the way on the track for the team, winning the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 58.29. Ruggio also joined Myles Anderson, Brady Bishop, and Rob Hartigan to win the 4x400 relay in a time of 3:34.52. Freshman Jace Stuart and junior Riley Nash finished second and third in the 5000 meter.
In field competition, sophomore Joey Curr placed third in the discus throw with a mark of 37.40 m/122'8'', finishing behind only two RIT graduates who were competing as alumni entries. Junior Cole Fuller placed fourth in the javelin throw (39.48m), while sophomore Kuyler Coffin (5.57m) and freshman Griffin Killian (5.55m) finished fourth and fifth in the long jump.
The Cardinals compete next at home, as Fisher hosts the Cardinal Classic at Polisseni Track and Field Complex on Friday and Saturday, April 26 and 27.
