TOWSON, MD – The St. John Fisher University men and women's track and field teams kicked off the outdoor portion of the season by competing in the Towson Spring Invitational on Friday.
Caitlin Voloshen finished in seventh place in the 800m race, crossing the finish line in 2:25.23. She also took ninth place in the 1500m race, completing that race in a time of 5:09.10.
Makenna King claimed fourth place in the discus throw, reaching a mark of 44.17m. King also added a third place finish in the shot put, hitting a distance of 12.50m.
Anna Steed competed in the hammer throw and claimed ninth place with a throw of 44.34m. In the high jump, Mary Claire Rollins finished in ninth place, clearing the bar at 1.45m in her second attempt.
Claudia Vogel finished in eighth place in the javelin throw with a toss of 27.93m, while
Michaela Kurbs finished in ninth in the long jump with a distance of 5.14m. In the pole vault,
Emily Frech cleared the bar at 3.05m to take home seventh place.
The Cardinals also had two athlete compete in the 10k at SUNY Geneseo.
Lauren DeMichele won the event with a time of 39:00.39 and Laure Witt took sixth place in a mark of 40:24.45.
Up next for Fisher is the Alumni Invitational hosted by University of Rochester. Competition is slated for Saturday, April 6 and a 10 a.m. start time.
