PITSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University men and women's track and field teams had athletes compete in two separate competitions on Friday. A group of athletes traveled to Boston University for day one of the David Hemery Valentine Invite, while others stayed local to compete at RIT in their second Friday Night meet of the season.
Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invite
Maggie Bacon and
Allison List competed in the 800m race. Bacon finished in 272
nd with a time of 2:26.63, followed by List who used a mark of 2:29.55 to come in 290
th. Grace Wright and
Grace Dolan each participated in the 400m dash. Wright finished with a time of 59.58 to take 109
th, and Dolan was in 161
st with a mark of 1:01.40. Dolan also competed in the 200m dash and finished in 167
th with a time of 27.10.
Ciarra Franz impressed in the 60m hurdles, securing third-place in her heat of the preliminary races with a time of 8.86 that also qualified her for the finals. In the final, the hurdler came in seventh place with a time of 8.91.
Caitlin Voloshen ran a very physical race that saw her tripped on the backstretch, Caitlin absolutely destroyed her own school record running an amazing 5:11.07.
RIT Friday Night Meet
At RIT,
Sabrina Antonini led things off with a ninth place finish in the 5000 meter run with a time of 20:46.96.
Margaret Nawojski followed in tenth place with a time of 21:07.33.
Riley Jameson claimed second place in the mile, crossing the finish line with a time of 5:36.71. In the 400m dash,
Sophia Leach secured fourth place with a mark of 1:05.10.
Allison Lennebacker ran a time of 8.37 in the 60m to take home sixth place.
Laura Witt competed in the 3,000m race and finished in eighth place with a time of 11:09.68.
Claudia Vogel tallied a third place finish in the high-jump after clearing a height of 1.47m in her first attempt.
The Cardinals are back in action on Saturday, Feb. 10 when they compete in day two of the David Hemery Valentine Invite and the MIT Gordon Kelly Invitational.
