BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University men's track & field team finished fifth at the Brockport Multi & Invitational on Saturday, as several Cardinals put in strong finishes.
Track
Senior John Ruggio finished third in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.88. Other high finishes for the track team included a sixth and seventh-place finish in the mile run by seniors Tony DiRubbo (4:28.55) and Ethan Billings (4:28.89), as well as a sixth-place finish by DiRubbo in the 800m (2:04.19) and a sixth-place finish by the 4x400 relay team (3:45.14).
Field
Senior Sean Cochrane (2.01m/6'7'') and sophomore Bryant DePaull (1.96m/6'5'') finished one-two in the high jump, both good for Atlantic Region qualifying marks. Freshman Noah Dueker snagged a second-place finish in the triple jump with a 12.54m/41'1.75'' distance. Senior Matthew Stasiw had a second-place finish in long jump with an Atlantic Region qualifying 6.71m/22'0.25'', while freshman Hayden Penna tied for third in the pole vault with a height of 4.15m/13'7.25''.
