ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University men and women's track and field team competed in the final regular season meet on Friday, heading down to Nazareth University for the Conference Tune-Up.
Track Events
Sophia Leach ran the 400m race and with a time of 1:04.99 finished in ninth place.
Michaela Kurbs crossed the finish line of the 60m dash with a time of 8.45, which was good for seventh place.
Emma Massa ran the 1000 meter race in a time of 4:35.01 to take third place.
Field Events
Kurbs also competed in the long jump and finished in eighth place with a leap of 5.25 meters in her third attempt.
Emily Frech leapt over the bar at 3.00 meters in the pole vault, and finished in a tie for tenth place. In the high jump, the Cardinals had four athletes finish in the top-10 starting with
Claudia Vogel who cleared 1.52 meters in her third attempt to come in fourth place. Mary Claire Rollins grabbed fifth place with a height of 1.47 meters.
Sarah Jacques and
Angela Carlson each leapt 1.42 meters, with Jacques doing so in her second attempt for ninth place and Carlson did so in her third attempt for tenth place.
Makenna King claimed third place in the shot put, tossing a mark of 12.68 meters with her second attempt.
Up Next
Fisher will be back in action next weekend when they will travel to Houghton University, who are hosting the 2024 Empire 8 Indoor Track and Field Championships. The two-day event begins on Friday, Feb. 23 at 4 p.m.
