Men’s Track and Field Compete In Conference Tune-Up

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University men and women's track and field team competed in the final regular season meet on Friday, heading down to Nazareth University for the Conference Tune-Up.
 
Track Events
In the 60m hurdles, John Ruggio and Trenton Wynn recorded top-5 finishes. Ruggio claimed second place with a time of 871 and Wynn followed with a fifth place finish with a  time of 9.00.
 
Field Events
In the men's high jump. Griffin Killian took home a tie for fifth place, clearing the bar at 1.77 meters in his third attempt. Brandon Kaplan came in sixth place in the weight throw, reaching a distance of 15.42 meters in his fifth toss. Hayden Penna finished second in the pole vault after another incredible day. Penna cleared 4.60 meters in his first attempt and that mark is a new PR, school record and regional qualifying mark.
 
Up Next
Fisher will be back in action next weekend when they will travel to Houghton University, who are hosting the 2024 Empire 8 Indoor Track and Field Championships. The two-day event begins on Friday, Feb. 23 at 4 p.m.
