BOSTON, MA. – The St. John Fisher University men's track and field team continued its weekend of competition on Saturday, with athletes taking part in the Valentine Classic Invitational at Boston University and the Gordon Kelly Invitational at MIT.
Boston University Valentine Classic
Only track athletes competed at Boston University on Saturday, where they matched up with some of the best athletes in the country, including Olympians and many athletes from Division I schools.
In the 800 meters, graduate student Myles Andersen and senior Anthony DiRubbo set personal records at the distance with times of 1:59.06 and 1:59.37, respectively.
At the 400 meter, senior Robert Hartigan finished with a personal record of 51.20 while junior Brady Bishop had a season best finish of 51.49. The two also participated in the 200 meter alongside graduate student Trenton Wynn. Wynn and Brady finished with times of 23.39, while Hartigan ended his run with a time of 23.67.
Gordon Kelly Invitational
Over in Cambridge, both track and field athletes competed at MIT.
In the mile run, senior Riley Nash finished fourth with a personal-best indoor time of 4:30.37. His teammate, freshman Jace Stuart, placed seventh with a 4:34.79 time, also a personal indoor best.
In the 3000 meter, senior Ethan Billings placed eighth with a mark of 8:56.33.
In field sports, freshman Hayden Penna finished fifth in the pole vault, reaching a height of 4.10m/13'5.25''.
