PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher women's track and field team opened the 2024-25 season on Friday night at the Nazareth University Alumni Opener at the Golisano Training Center.
Top Results
Women's 60m: Freshman Abigail Dorunda placed second in the 60m race, logging an 8.12 time in her first collegiate meet.
Mile: Freshman Brianne Hurlburt ran a 5:40.14 mile, good for fifth place out of 15 runners. Freshman Grace Caterina (5:44.13) placed seventh, while freshman Peyton Carter 5:53.44) placed eighth and senior Logan Fredrickson came in ninth (6:00.59).
60m: Dorunda placed third in the event at 8.11 seconds. Freshman Makenna Manson was fifth at 8.19.
300m: Dorunda also logged one of the top 300m times, finishing in second place at 43.41. Sophomore Sophia Leach came in fifth place (44.19); freshman Allison Nickson placed sixth (44.61).
3,000m: Sophomore Baillee Burton won the 3,000m event, logging an 11:28.76 time, a personal record. Senior Audrey Carragher placed fourth and nearly set a personal record at 11:44.12.
Weight throw: Junior Jazelle McIntyre placed sixth and set a personal record in the weight throw (14.28m).
Long jump: Senior Veronica Duell finished third in the long jump (5.39m).
Triple jump: In her first collegiate meet, freshman Kianna Naval came in third place in the long jump (10.72 seconds).
High jump: Freshman Kathryn Hillyard won the women's high jump event (1.61m).
Pole vault: Hillyard also placed sixth in the high jump event (2.85m).
