SELINSGROVE, PA – The St. John Fisher Women's Track and Field team traveled to Selinsgrove, PA, as they competed in day two of the 2023 AARTFC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The two-day meet was hosted by Susquehanna University. With the conclusion of day two, the Cardinals finished 11th out of 59 teams with 27 points.
On the Track
Competing first on the track,
Ciarra Franz ran in the finals of the 100m hurdles. Franz ran 14.80, finishing fifth overall and scoring four points.
Right after,
Samantha Shea and Grace Wright competed in the 400m. Shea ran 56.59, taking second overall and bringing Fisher eight more points. Wright ran 59.03, finishing 19th overall.
Later in the meet,
Zhane Lettsome ran in the 200m. Lettsome ran 25.97, finishing 16th overall.
On the Field
First on the field, multiple Cardinals competed in the shot put.
Makenna King threw 12.69m, placing sixth overall and scoring three points.
Lyndsay O'Brien threw 11.24m, finishing 26th overall. Taking 31st,
Erin McGuinness threw 10.92m.
Next up,
Claudia Vogel competed in the high jump. Vogel jumped 1.50m, tying for 15th overall.
Up next, Fisher will return home, as the Cardinals host the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Championship. The three-day event will take place at Polisseni T&F Complex and will be from Thursday, May 25 – Saturday, May 27.
