SELINSGROVE, PA – The St. John Fisher Women's Track and Field Team traveled to Selinsgrove, PA, as they competed in day one of the 2023 AARTFC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The two-day meet is being hosted by Susquehanna University. After day one, the Cardinals sit in fifth place with 12 points.
On the Track
First, on the track, for the Cardinals,
Ciarra Franz competed in the opening round of the 100m hurdles. Franz ran 14.41, taking third and qualifying for the final round held on Thursday.
Next on the track,
Zhane Lettsome competed in the first round of the 100m. Lettsome ran 12.54, finishing 14th overall.
Later, on the track,
Caitlin Voloshen competed in the 3000m steeplechase. Voloshen ran 11:54.84, finishing 14th overall.
Ending the day, multiple Cardinals ran in the 10,000m.
Lauren DeMichele ran 37:26.23, finishing fifth overall and scoring four points.
Brigid McGee came in next for Fisher, running 39:06.69 and finishing 13th overall.
Sophia Prouty ran 40:29.01, taking 23rd overall.
On the Field
On the field for Fisher,
Makenna King competed in the discus throw. King threw 44.62m, placing second overall and scoring eight points for the Cardinals.
Up next, Fisher will stay in Selinsgrove, PA as they compete in day two of the Atlantic Regional Championship (AARTFC). Day two will be hosted by Susquehanna University and will be on Thursday, May 18, with events beginning at 10 a.m.
