PITTSFORD, NY – The St. John Fisher Women's Track and Field team stayed home as they hosted day two of the St. John Fisher Cardinal Classic Invitational. Day two took place at the Polisseni T&F Complex and Murphy Throws Complex.
On the Track
On the track, Fisher competed in the 3000m steeplechase. Allison List ran 12:56.95, placing sixth overall. Right behind her,
Sabrina Antonini ran 12:58.18, placing seventh overall.
Next up, Fisher competed in the 100m hurdles. In the first round,
Ciarra Franz ran 14.68, placing fourth and qualifying for the final round. In the finals, Franz ran 14.60, placing fourth overall.
Right after, Fisher competed in the 100m.
Samantha Shea ran 12.35, placing first and qualifying for the final round.
Zhane Lettsome ran 12.67, placing fourth and also moving on to the final round. In the finals, Shea took first overall, running 12.33. Lettsome was right behind, taking second with a time of 12.49.
In the 1500m,
Molly Hart ran 5:29.50, placing 33
rd and qualifying for the E8 Championships.
The 400m saw
Paige Lundgren run 1:05.10, placing 17
th and also qualifying for the E8 Championships.
Next up, Fisher competed in the 800m.
Lauren DeMichele ran 2:27.40, placing ninth overall.
Sophia Prouty ran 2:36.12 placing 31
st overall. Both runners ran E8 Championship qualifying times.
In the 400m,
Michaela Kurbs ran 26.71, placing 15
th overall and qualifying for the E8 Championships.
The 5000m, saw multiple top-ten finishes from the Cardinals.
Laura Witt ran 18:51.73, placing second overall. Nine seconds behind,
Brigid McGee ran 19:00.58 to take fourth overall.
Riley Corey ran 19:06.11, placing sixth overall.
Taylor Hoffman ran 20:54.53, placing 22
nd overall. Witt, Corey, and Hoffman all qualified for the E8 Championships with their performances.
Last, on the track, the team of
Riley Jameson, Allison List, Maggie Dolloff, and Hart competed in the 4x800m relay. The team ran 11:16.29, placing fourth overall.
On the Field
First, on the field, multiple Cardinals competed in the discus throw invitational.
Makenna King placed first, throwing 41.76m.
Later in the meet,
Claudia Vogel and
Ada Sylvester competed in the javelin throw invitational. Vogel threw 30.30m, placing seventh overall and moving up to first in the conference. Sylvester threw 27.43m, placing 10
th overall.
Next up,
Veronica Duell and
Michaela Kurbs took first and second in the long jump. Duell jumped 5.97m, placing first overall. With her jump, Duell moves up to first in the conference, first in the region, and second in the nation. Kurbs jumped 5.69m, placing second overall. With her performance, Kurbs moves to second in the conference, seventh in the region, and 11
th in the nation.
Competing in the pole vault,
Emily Frech vaulted 2.66m, tying for third overall.
In the high jump, Vogel jumped 1.52m, tying for fourth overall.
The shot put saw King place second overall, throwing 12.15m.
Erin McGuinness took fifth overall, throwing 11.28m.
Lyndsay O'Brien finished ninth overall, throwing 11.28m.
Up next, qualifying Cardinals will be traveling to Utica, NY as they compete in the Empire 8 Championship. The two-day event is hosted by Utica University and will take place on Friday, May. 5, and Saturday, May 6.
