Cardinals Impress in Day One Of Valentine Invite

BOSTON, MA – The St. John Fisher University track and field team traveled to Boston University on Friday and competed in the first day of the David Hemery Valentine Invite. The Cardinals had some solid performances on the women's side including a variety of personal bests and some record-breaking times.
 
Ciarra Franz was strong in both the 60m hurdle and the 60m dash. In the hurdles, she used a time of 9.08 to finish in eighth place and she followed that with a sixth place finish in the dash with a mark of 7.93. The 60m dash time is a PR for Franz. Zhane Lettsome hit a PR in the 200m, running a Atlantic Championship qualifying mark of 26.13. Lilyan Humphrey also hit a PR in the 200, crossing the finish line with a  time of 27.83.
 
Samantha Shea continues her great season by setting a new school record in the 400m race, hitting a PR time of 56.70. That mark is sixth best in the nation.
 
The Valentine Invite continues Saturday, Feb. 11 with a majority of the men's events taking place starting at 10 a.m.
