HOUGHTON, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University men and women's track and field traveled to Houghton University to compete in the first competition of the new indoor season. The Highlanders hosted the December Classic and the Cardinals finished with some strong performances.
Maggie Bacon competed in the Women's Mile Run and took home fourth place with a time of 5:39.47. In the women's 400m race, Fisher had four athletes finish in the top-6 with Grace Wright and
Grace Dolan earning first and second place respectively. Wright earned the win with a time of 1:01.88 followed by Dolan who crossed the finish line in 1:03.93.
Emma Wright claimed the fourth place slot with a mark of 1:07.53 and
Sophia Leach used a mark of 1:09.05 to come in sixth.
G. Wright also competed in the 200m and took home sixth place with a time of 27.30.
Ciarra Franz earned second place in the 60m dash with a time of 7.85. Teammate,
Michaela Kurbs, came in sixth with a time of 8.00.
Sabrina Antonini took fourth place in the 3k race with a time of 11:44.06
In the high jump, two Cardinals finished in the top-10. Mary Claire Rollins took fourth place with a height of 1.47m in her second attempt. In a tie for fifth,
Claudia Vogel cleared the 1.47m bar in her third attempt.
Erin McGuinness claimed fifth place in the shot put with a toss of 11.09m.
Up next for the Cardinals is the Alumni Meet hosted by Nazareth University on Friday, Dec. 8 with a projected start time of 4p.m.
