ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University men's soccer team are on the road on Tuesday, traveling to the University of Rochester for a 7 p.m. match. The team will be supporting the Go4TheGoal Foundation and "Lacing Up 4 Pediatric Cancer" in their contest against the Yellowjackets by wearing yellow laces to show their support for the fight against Pediatric cancer.
The Go4theGoal foundation has an unwavering mission to improve the lives of children battling cancer by providing financial support, developing and implementing unique hospital programs, funding innovative research, and granting personal wishes. Through their firsthand experience with pediatric cancer and their medical background, Go4theGoal provides the best practices to patients, their families, and the hospitals and staff that care for them.
"We are proud to partner with Go4theGoal to raise money for a fantastic cause and help families right here in Rochester," said head coach Jack Burgasser."
"It's exciting to have both our program and the U of R lacing up tomorrow night," he added.
Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer® started in 2011 as an answer to requests from youth soccer teams in New Jersey that wanted to show their commitment to the fight against pediatric cancer. Today, teams across the country representing every sport from youth to professional have Laced Up in Go4theGoal's GOLD laces.
Men's Soccer will be fundraising for the Go4theGoal with the goal of raising $1,000. All funds will go to help Rochester area families whose children are battling cancer.
