ALFRED, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher University women's tennis team travelled to Alfred University for a Sunday afternoon competition. The Cardinals fell 6-3 to move to 3-1 on the season, suffering their first defeat of the campaign.

Katheryn Strait competed with Abby Garvey in the doubles matches and fell 8-4. The other two pairs of Lilly Renzi, Eliana Kelly and Riley Ellis, Megan McMichael also suffered 8-4 defeats to the Saxons. Fisher won their first match of the day when Kelly won 6-3 and 6-1 in back to back sets. Renzi and Grace Fisher also won their matches with Renzi going 7-5, 6-3 and Fisher going 6-1,6-3.

The Cardinals will be at home on Sunday, as they will host Utica University at 3 p.m. at the Mendon Racquet and Pool Club.
