PITTSFORD, NY – The St. John Fisher University men's soccer team will hit the road this week to take on Clarkson University on Tuesday, Sept. 20, and Alfred University on Saturday, Sept. 24. The matchup against the Golden Knights will be their first since 2016.

Heading into this week, the Cardinals hold a 2-2-1 record. The Golden Knights have yet to allow a goal this season, as they have started the season an impressive 5-0. Meanwhile, the Saxons have dropped their last two, giving them a 2-4-1 record on the campaign, including an 0-1 start in conference play.

Masters Student: Through five games, graduate student Brennan Brown has three goals and seven points. In his four previous seasons, Brown totaled 45 games played, and in that time totaled seven goals and four assists total 19 points. If Brown scores one more goal and one more point, he would tie his career high of four, which he set in 2019.

Gate keeping: Over the last four games, the Cardinals have allowed just one goal. Junior goalie Jadon Schlierf has allowed just .83 GAA this season, which is lower than his career average of 1.11 GAA. In the last matchup against Alfred University, Schlierf allowed just one goal on 13 shots, including five on goal, all of which came in the second half.

Player to Watch: The last time these two teams met was in the quarterfinal round of the Empire 8 Championship. In that contest, senior Ben Woolingham played the hero, scoring both goals for the Cardinals, including one in overtime to secure the victory. Look for a strong week on the road for the Amherst native.
