PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher College men's track and field team competed at the Conference Tune-Up held at Nazareth College on Friday.
Eddie Mahana won in the 60-meter hurdles. The senior came across the finish line in 8.15 seconds. It is the Clay native's second win the event this season and third overall.
Savion Joyles placed second in the high jump. The freshman leaped over the 1.89 meter mark to take the runner-up position.
Zachary Briggs also had a solid showing in high jump with a personal-best 1.81 meter jump to place fourth.
Ryan Desautels posted a pair of sixth-place finishes in shot put and the weight throw.
Setting new personal bests were
Andrew Ford,
Myles Anderson,
Ryan Driscoll and
Ryan English in the mile.
Mathieu Acquard did it in the 800-meter in addition to
Brandon Nicosia in the 3000-meter. In the throwing competitions, hitting new personal marks were
Joe Jerkovich in the shot put and
Jack Mott in the weight throw.
The Cardinals now prepare for the Empire 8 Championships at Houghton College. They will take place on Friday and Saturday next weekend.
