OCEAN BREEZE, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher College men's track and field team started off the new year on Staten Island at St. Thomas Aquinas College's Spartan Invite Friday.
Kyle Rollins continued his dominate season with a win in the High Jump for the second meet in a row. The Groveland native tied his already top mark at the Division III level with a leap of 2.07 meters.
Chase Corcoran earned a pair of personal records in the Weight Throw and the Shot Put. In the weight throw, Corcoran hit the 16.39-meter mark to finish in fourth place that currently stands as the 10th best throw in Div III. Then in the shot put the junior qualified for the Atlantic Regionals with a toss of 14.11 meters.
Grant Stokoe had a solid showing in the Mile. The sophomore ran his fastest time of 4:25.28 in the event en route to claiming fourth place.
Eddie Mahana made his season debut and finished in the top ten while qualifying for regionals in multiple races. In the 200, Mahana ran a 22.69 to take fifth place and then a 50.71 in the 400 to place seventh.
Many Cardinals had personal best performances at the meet which include
Trenton Wynn in 200-meter dash,
Keegan Reyome in the Mile,
Jordan Kostera in the Pole Vault and
Trey Caulkins in the Shot Put.
Fisher returns to the track on Saturday, January 18
th for the RIT Invite.
